Year Complete: March 2018

DLR Group provided lighting design services for 3,000 SF of temporary exhibit space. Approximately 100 pieces of Japanese art were illuminated via a halogen light track system. Four different lamp beam optics and three types of lenses were utilized to provide desired illumination for the varied objects. Uniform wall wash lighting was provided for large size Japanese screens. Super narrow beam lamps were used to illuminate small, dark finish sculptures to reveal textures. At least two directional lights were aimed for three dimensional art pieces. Due to the lack of a functioning dimming system in the space, sheets of metal mesh were used to dim individual lighting fixtures. In addition to designing the lighting system, DLR Group staff installed and adjusted the lighting fixtures for the exhibition.
